The search of evidence of I.D. may lead us to proof of a creator. But why do we think that this creator is a god or has any god-like abilities? This is the idiosyncrasy that cannot square with the scientific method of thinking (as opposed to science itself). It is valid to ask the question: "Were we created/engineered?" but it is ridiculous to ask the question: "Is there a god?"
